Director of photography, Lionel Lindon, ASC is flanked by a pair of Todd-AO cameras with their gigantic "bugeye" lenses. Dual cameras were frequently used since the film was shot on 65mm at both the Todd-AO speed of 30 frames per second, and at the standard speed of 24 frames per second. The slower speed was for the version that would be reduction printed to an anamorphic 35mm film that was dubbed "Cinestage", and later to a CinemaScope compatible version. In some cases, the 35mm version used material from the 30 fps camera, and the difference in speed is slightly noticeable.
